old computer, how to identify modem?

i have an old comp im fixing up for a friend, i put windows 98 on it and gave it to him, he was going to install his isp software himself but the drivers for the modem were not updated yet, how do i find out what kind of modem he has so i can get the drivers?

Go here download Belarc adviser and run it to identify the hardware

Power down and unplug the PC, open the case and take the modem out. If it's that old, you might have a 14.4k modem which doesn't worth installing; otherwise the company name and modem type should be on it. You can then go to www.driverzone.com to get the drivers.
