I'm looking forward to buy a laptop and I want to hear advice from you guys/gals.

I think the Asus look pretty good, was looking at this one:

ASUS M50 Series M50Vm-B4 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T9400(2.53GHz)

I want the computer for developing applications and some gaming/general usage. If possible, I want it to have a blu-ray reader or writer as well.

Any other brands / options input is appreciated as well.

Also, how good will this laptop be compared to the pc in my sig?

Looks like a pretty good laptop..
best laptops I know of are Asus, HP, Acer...maybe Toshiba but im not really sure..but don't get Dell they suck...

Your laptop is better than your PC to be honest lol

We got a Gateway last month and it had the same exact specs (except it didn't do Blu-Ray), and it was HALF THAT.

Office Depot, the best place on earth to buy manufactured computers :D.

I also forgot to mention that the Gateway has integrated Intel X1300 graphics instead of the 9600M but yeah.
