Hi, Looking to get a new laptop computer. I haven't purchased a new pc since 2003. I'm not too familiar with all the new hardware and the like. My last laptop was a Dell, and it has treated me pretty well. I plan on using it for basic tasks, such as chatting, internet, light gaming. I tend to multitask so I'd like something that doesn't freeze up easily. I was looking into Dell and HP laptops. It seems to me that Dells have better deals. My last processor was a P4, how would that compare to the Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 @2.0Ghz? I was looking at the Inspiron 1525 @ $699. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thank You

Yeah, a duo at 2.0ghz sounds good for a laptop. The last one I've seen had a 1.6 single...

I don't look at laptops to often, but for what you're wanting, that laptop looks damn good..

Windows Vista Home Premium

The one thing is it has Vista.. I would look at maybe a gb or two more ram..

But like I said, for what you want that should be good... But I'm not saying there isn't better stuff out there for cheaper. I would personally go with HP, because I have messed with alot of dell laptops that the owners haven't had to good of an experice with... but that's what a warrenty is for :D
