well the quad core is a QX6700 not a E6600, thats a dual core processor, abou the price I don't know when it will drop, but the midrange quad cores are supposed to be coming out soon.

Doesn't Crysis utilize DX10? I know you could probably run it in DX9, but if I were you, I'd wait for the cheaper DX10 cards to come out. If you have to, sacrifice some of the money you put into your processor and/or PSU. Usually games aren't processor-limited, unless they're multi-threaded (like Crysis) and you have a single-core. I would not recommend quad-core for gaming. Sure it will be good, but it's a complete waste. They have hardly made any games that can benefit from dual-core yet, so quad-core support won't be around for a long, long while. You do whatever you want, but I'd invest more or the same in the GPU than the CPU for games. Not that the 7900GS is bad, it's just you could be getting a better gaming experience from a better graphics card and a slightly worse processor, say a Core 2 Duo E6400. That should get you by for a long while. Like I said, it's your money and the decision is up to you, but that's my 2¢.

If I were you, get a Core 2 Duo e6600, it'll have no problem with Crysis or whatever you throw at it. Use the money you save to get a nice DirectX 10 graphics card, that'll make a lot more of a difference for gaming than the processor.

I agree with lhuser, you will never need a 1000 watt PSU, 600 watts is more than enough, and the modular thing sounds pretty cool.
