I would like to burn some downloaded video files to a dvd-r using nero but not quite sure how i have tried already and know that it will not burn because the file isnt recognised by nero (its a windows media player file) could anyone tell me how i could change if the file so that nero will recognise it and burn it ( if that can i actually be done)

Nero is not really friendly with WMP files (syuch as .wmv, .wma)

You can download plugins from Nero. But if it is not that, then I'd go take a look buring a vided DVD. There is the tab in the top of the window. Click DVD
