Need new computer speakers - Dilemma!

I'm going to be doing a lot moving in the next couple of years, so it's time to toss out the z-5500's, and go with a 2.0 setup. I'm torn between the M-audio AV40's and Swans M200mkII. I'll likely be using my headphones quite a bit (Grado SR60's), which is why I'm slightly leaning toward the M-audio. Does anyone know how the amplifier on the AV40's is as a headphone amplifier, or if it makes any difference at all? I think the swans may be better for everyday listening though since they are not "studiophile" grade. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

2.0 setup? why just stereo with no sub? i would at least go 2.1 so you get some bass if you dont' want to mess with surround sound speakers.

edit: i would recommend these: (here's from my write-up in the review section): Logitech X-230 2.1 Speakers. These are great sounding 2.1 speakers for the price. I got them from newegg for about $35, and they sound much better than I had expected. They have 32 watts of RMS Power, and 64 watts of Peak Power. The satellite speakers have a slot on the rear of the swivel base where you can swivel the base around, and place a screw into the wall to mount them onto the wall which is what I did. There is a seperate bass volume adjuster on the subwoofer so you can turn up or down the amount of bass you want to hear. I would definately recommend these speakers to anyone looking for a good 2.1 setup for not a lot of money.

I have the perfect speakers for you.
The Creative T20 Speakers. They're about $110 Australian Dollars... which is about the same in US.

They do not have a subwoofer, they have bass cones on the actual speakers. It sounds like there's a subwoofer (and very well controlled bass too), except it doesn't vibrate the room. There is also this fine fibre-cloth cone that plays really high pitched frequencies... the sound is amazingly crystal clear.

If you want to go the extra mile, try the T40's. I haven't heard them before:

Yeah I heard those BOSE ones in Best Buy before, they sounds pretty good, even though they don't have a subwoofer.

The reason I don't want a sub is because I'm going to be moving 3-4 times within the next year, and I don't want to hassle with a sub + satellites + all the wires and crap. I've heard a lot of good things about the creative gigaworks, but i'd like something with a little better contruction, such as a wood cabinet and a little more depth. That's why I like Swans products. The only reason I'd prefer the M-audio over the swans is for the headphone amp.

Can anyone help me differentiate between these two speakers, or explain if there is a significance in the $100 price difference?

As for the person who wanted to buy them, I'll likely be selling them on ebay, so if you're willing to pay about what they're going for on ebay, I'd be happy sell them (shipping is going to be a bit*h though).

The GigaWorks T20 has a nice amount of depth. If you're not sure go to a store and try them out before you buy.

I'm just a little skeptical that small speakers in a plastic enclosure will be able to replicate sound on the same level as full size drivers in wood cabinets. Then again, I've heard nothing but good reviews about them. The T40's seem like the best bet, but I don't know if I can justify spending $150 for them (If I can even find them).
