Need Help tried everything

i need help
my stupid computers cpu usage wont go down
i have nothing running
just my anti virus

ive ran scans
did system restore
still the cpu usage is high

could it have anything to do with my gfx card
cuz i did get a new one

Specs:
AMD 3500+
1gig DDR PC3200 400MHZ
Geforce 6500
WIndows Media Center MCE 05

also i did install that extender thingy to connect my pc to my xbox
could that havee anything to do with it i deleted it after tho

Am pretty sure it's a virus, i heard of it (Can't remeber the name, sorry). The CPU some how takes heavy load, so a full virus scan through the WINDOWS folder, hope it works and good luck

Start your pc in safe mode and do all your scans that way.

Press ctrl-alt-delete and click the processes tab and see what you have running that is using all your cpu resources. That might help narrow it down.

whats the difference than doing em normally and safe mode?
