need help please

i have my pc here specs-
cpu- i7950 @3.06ghz
mobo- ga-x58a-ud3r
ram-corsair xms3x2g
psu-1200w generic brand
hdd-1tb seagate gpu-7970 dualbios ghz enabled

now you see the problem is i returned the item(7970) with thought it was faulty
but it turns out it works with my friends system and the one umart tested it on.
now my hardware is causing it to black/blue with white line screen after windows is logged in for a few minutes.
if my hardware isnt compatible i will have to sell it and most likely buy a
matx motherboard and a 3770k or mabe even trade for that.
please give me your thoughts.

ok, to clarify my situation i bought a 7970 2 days ago and tested it with no success
returned it for testing worked fine besides the i3 bottleneck.

Hi

Doing a quick internet search I found the following

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1366 - GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0)

XMS3

The corsair link shows the ram operates at 1600MHz.
Motherboard ram support only for 2200/1333/1066/800 MHz.

This could be a memory compatibility issue....
