VINMAN was awsome and reccomended a "gaming" build that was under my $1k budget and I really thank him for it. +1 (dont really know what that means but I guess it means major props. :) )

He recomended ...

I would feel like such a cheater if I just went out and bought this exact build but I did have my own personal opinions after a few days of research (first time builder).

CPU - I was leaning towards the Intel i5 Lynnfield instead of the the AMD Phenom II x6 1055T. What do you guys think? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215.

-Also if I did this I would need to swap out the Mobo aswell (i think), does anyone have any reccomendations that is in the same $$$ range as the one VINMAN reccomended. (is the RAM still compatable with this)

GPU - I like the GTX 460 after reading alot about it but it's a toss up right now between this one and the EVGA http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130563 due to heating concerns but what do you guys think?

HDD - I was thinking of going with a 7200 rpm HDD instead of the one VIN suggested but then I see the one he linked has a ton of cache versus http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218
any thoughts?

Thanks to everyone with anythoughts and remember I'm trying to stay within budget!

**EDIT- Also how many years you think this build would last me for medium - high setting MMORPGs and games like Starcraft.

The Core i5 750 is more comparable to the Phenom II X6 1090T and even then i'd favour the i5 750 for it's more efficient architecture.

Team it with a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 and you'll have a great, and highly over-clock-able, rig.

Thank for the speedy reply, yea im leaning toward the Intel i5 750 thanks for the Mobo suggestion.

bump ... tryign to get as many opinons before I pull the trigger by the end of the week

What do you guys think about the HDD? Fast RPM or bigger cache...

Also hows is that case ... is there anything better around that price cooling and look wise that is recommended?

You might want 7200rpm on the HDD me thinks. That's the average speed.

Unless you specifically need a 32 bit OS you might as well get the 64 bit OS. You can run 32 bit app's within a 64 bit OS.
