Now some questions i have...
1. will it be possible for me to use my dvd/cd drive in this new computer rather then buy a new one?
2. i do not no how many watts my power supply i have currently is but could i reuse it rather then buy a new one?
3. how many watts should i be looking to get to run this setup?
4. Fans?
5. the CPU i have now says 2.60GHz, and the one i am currently trying to buy is 2.30GHz, does this mean the processor i have now is better?

to anyone that hasnt figured out, i have not built a computer before but i am not stupid about computers at all and am just looking to learn

That's an OEM processor. I don't believe those come with heatsinks. It's all about luck. Correct me if I'm wrong. What is your exact budget including shipping? What will you mostly be using your computer for?

I really only wanna spend 350 at the most with shipping...
thats why i was wondering if i could reuse my power and cd drive
although i have been looking at cases and found one with a good power supply so i will edit the information taking out the power link and editing the case link

i use my computer mostly for internet
but i want to be able to run a new game every now and then, like COD4, or counter strike source, hense the graphics card i picked

when you say thats an OEM processor what exactly does that mean, and how is it different from a different processor?

i have changed me processor to...

The PSU, known as the " Power Supply Unit" powers the whole computer. Antec is well know for making quality Power Supplies. Usually a nice looking case (like yours :)) comes with a 480 watt power supply that is not a good brand and that can cause it to have less power than is actually listed and it can break on you. Also, if you aren't a heavy gamer and dont plan on upgrading your card anytime soon, you can get this PSU

Some good brands of PSU are

Antec
OCZ
Corsair
Thermaltake

The heatsink is needed. You can buy one better than stock seperately. OEM just means that you get the hardware and nothing else.

the link has been edited

i c,
would it be bad for me to buy lets say a 350 watt PSU?

What kind of games do you want to play? And at what resolution?

I say skip the 8600GT and get a 9600GSO for not that much more if you can afford it.

As for your power supply, you have to look at it. There should be a label on the side of it that tells you how many watts it puts out and how many amps are on the 12V rail (important for graphics cards).
