Last Sunday morning, I was instaling vista on my dads laptop and, As I unpluged it from the laptop to get out all the knots in it, this bright light came from in the middle of a wire. I imediatly shut off the power supply where it was plugged in. And a huge cloud of smoke followed the insinerated wire. Obviously, i didnt try and plug it back in lol, so now I have no power to my laptop. Im looking on ebay to find one. Well we sent it in to repair and they say it could take up to 6 weeks to fix. So I want to buy one off ebay.
I was wondering if this is a good buy. I have two choices;

or

thanks

wow that's crazy man, kinda reminds me when me and my dad were messin with the PSU and this HUGE power arc came out lol

The laptop is very similar to the Gateway 7426 , i dont have the specs off hand. But the laptop looks the same and is very close spec wise. Only difference mine is a 4000+, a X600 radeon card.... thats all i could see.

why dont you just go to walmart and get one, you know its going to be new, and also you can return it if its not right

yeah they have a little adapter that has almost all sizes in a package that should work good, at my walmart their back in the tv section

on eaby you could search your laptop and get the exact one but if its damaged you might be out of luck but like
HAKU MIOJE said try walmart or even radioshack has tons of adaptors
