I built myself a PC and it has a different type of BIOS than im used to. The kind im used to is simple and has a boot disk priority option. The kind that came with my pc is more advanced and i have no idea how to do boot disks.

I cant find the place to make it recognize my CD drives as BEFORE the HD so i can use a boot CD to load linux...

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

The BIOS your using came from the original manufacturer (ex. award, pheonix, etc) so it came with all the settings visible. On the other hand, OEMs (ex. Dell, Hp, etc.) generaly hide those advanced settings to the end-user so that they wouldnt mess it up.

Can you tell us who the manufacturer is of the BIOS?
