Modem, no rj-45 :(

Alright, this might be a pretty stupid question, but is there anyway to get an rj-45 cable into a phone-line sized hole via adapter? I'm going to be getting this computer soon, verrrryyyyy old, it says it has a 56k modem, but has no usb ports

No you can't do that...a modem is very different from a networking card.

You could wait and see what kind of slots are available and purchase a net working card and install it to be able to get on line that way...

A PC that doesn't have USB ports is old indeed and may not even be able to install a networking card in there either in that case you may just be out of luck from anything other than a phone modem.
