Memory and Intel 965P Express Chipset (limited to 800 speed only)? (source newegg)

I was looking at a motherboard and it lists that it accepts 533/667/800 memory on it's manufacture web page. However, on the product page on new egg it claims that 800 speed (does the timing only apply to 800 speed?) with JEDEC approval must be used for the chipset Intel 965P Express (see below). I have seen this before all over new egg.

1) Anyone know if this setup is ok?
The memory I would like is 240 Pin 667 5-5-5-12 1.8v. Seems like it should work, but I am not sure about JDEC/667 speed. http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820146580

2) What is the deal with the timing/JEDEC?
Can anyone explain the details, when I am looking for memory do I have to look for JEDEC listed?

Reference:
A) According to Newegg, on the motherboard page:
“Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets. “

B) Motherboard:

I don't think so...I have a motherboard with the same P965 chipset, and I know for a fact my memory would never do anything at 1.8V. It's rated at 2.1, and that's the max memory voltage that it will allow me to put in it.

My memory is DDR2-800 4-4-4-12.

I think it should work fine. On the CNet site it says:
Supported RAM Speed PC2-4300, PC2-5300, PC2-6400

For my board, Asus P5B Deluxe, which has the P965 chipset, they came out with a bios flash that lets you use higher voltage memory, now I use Crucial Ballistix RAM, which needs 2.5V and it works fine, it also runs at DDR2 1000
