I recently got team fortress 2 for my computer but it runs very slowly. Im pretty sure this is because of my processor. I currently have this processor. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=29738

I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a couple better processors that would work with my computer( http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/fo....com&siteid=7117&words=all&keywords=&areaid=2 ).

If more information is needed or the team fortress 2 problem is not my processor, let me know.

Ok cool. Im just wondering, is the processor the main reason why the game runs slow? By the way i cant upgrade my ram anymore so if thats the problem i cant really do anything about it

It could be the processor. Did you make sure there were no programs running in the background? Have you done a disk cleanup and defrag lately? How do your other games run?

It can, and it cannot. I think graphics cards increases the performance the most when it comes to gaming.

I wasnt running anything else in the background. Some games run decently but most first person shooter games are too slow to be played.

are you playing on the lowest settings?
and are you playing on onboard or with an graphics card?

I would recommend getting an graphics card first. The games might put too much work on the CPU since it has to do processing, and graphics at the same time. Graphics card has its own processor, so it takes work off of the CPU.

When I switched from onboard to graphics card, I was able to play games on med/high settings as to when I could only go on the lowest with onboard. Its highly recommended to get a graphics card if you plan to use your computer for gaming.

The graphics card is by far the limiting factor when you're running onboard. You should upgrade your GPU if you want to play TF2.
