After messing around with some network options, (which by the way i have reverted back to orgainal, but still the problem occurs) my xp always comes up with a password screen when logging on which i can not remove by run: controluserpasswords2

and when i press ctrl alt del i get this screen first

why is this
and how can i get rid of it as it is very annoying.

thank you very much.

Ive had a little look around for you and came up with a solution you could try:

# you have one user account and no password configured, Windows XP will log you in automatically. Otherwise, you'll have to do the following:

# Obtain and install the Windows XP version of TweakUI.
# Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP).
# Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon.
# Turn on the Log on automatically at system startup option, type your username and password, and click Ok.

cheets buddy, will giv it a go after ive sorted out my perfomance issues with bf2 atm! will let u know how it goes

Hope it helps you! I know it can be very annoying espesialy when your wanting just the task manager up!
