hey everyone!

i have a new HP dv9000t laptop that has the following video features:
VGA out
S-Video 7 pin out
My TV tuner seems to have options out as well

So I tried to connect this 7-pin s-Video cable to the laptop --> TV

The problem is, that adapter has green red and blue out, but my TV only has Red White and Yellow in. So I tried just connecting from the green to the yellow, and got only black and white signal.

How can I connect so that I get color?

Thank you!

That adaptor with rgb is for a component tv. All three plugs replace the yellow wire. If your tv does not have a row of red, green, and blue, then your tv dosen't have component. There is usually a different adaptor for the regular a\v (red white yellow). For example when I bought my video card it came with a adaptor for component (rgb), a different one for a\v (rwy), and another one for s-video.

The green blue and red are for an HDTV signal. Doesn't your TV have an S-Video port?? Most newer TVs do...

Just get a straight through S-Video cable, if you TV supports S-Video. It works with my HP dv4000, though I don't really use it much on the TV.
