Hi all,
Last week I replaced the hardrive in my Compaq Presario 2500 Laptop after the previous drive died on me on Christmas eve. Now the laptop is accessing the hardrive at least once a second even when I'm not doing anything. There isn't anything running in the background.
I seem to remember this happening when I first got the laptop 18 months ago and am wondering now whether this is why my previous hardrive failed.
It can't be a software issue as I reinstalled XP Home on it when I put in the new drive.
Has anybody got any ideas on what could be causing this and any possible fixes?
