ok my motherboard has a Realtek 8111C on it.
What does that even mean because I'm not able to connect to the internet, only my local area.
Does this mean I have to buy a network card to access the internet?
I'm only asking because my last computer did not require one..

no, you should be able to connect with that, what kind of router do you have...?

I have a linksys HUB I believe.
The drivers that came with my board are strange, I'm going to try some off the internet later today when I get home.
I'll be sure to update.
