Ok, while i'm waiting for my old hard drive to come back, I went ahead and bought me another hard drive, a Seagate 320 GB internal hard drive upgrade kit. Now I didn't open it up yet, but can I use it as a regular harddrive, I mean as my first one? because I have to reinstall windows xp and don't want to be stuck wondering why my hard drive is now saving? Should I just return it and get another one that doesn't say Upgrade kit on it?

Now remember this is going to be on a build computer with no Operating System on it.

Yeah you can use it as a normal hard drive.

The only difference between your "upgrade" HD vs "OEM" drives that system builders buy, is that yours came with cables, screws and a bunch of paper and CD's telling you how to transfer your files to your hard drive. Oh, and you probably paid an extra 30$ for it.
