Installing a processor

So I'm having trouble installing a processor. I open the latches and everything and put it down softly, but i can't close the latch with the processor there without damaging it!

How do I do it?

it appears in the first pic you still have the pin protector on the part that holds the processor in place. its the black plastic looking thing. the pics are kinda small but that look like what it is. take it out and then you should be fine to clamp it in place.
