Well trying to overclock my CPU all day to get it just right fried it and now it freezes every time I log on no matter what I do so I was wondering if its that hard and if I need other parts to order other than the new CPU to get everything running again. For example - can I use the same fan and heat sink with the new processor? I was so happy when I found a plethora of LGA 775 chipsetted CPUs at Amazon after finding none at Newegg :D

Your old heat sink and fan should work. You may want to check temperatures with something like hardware monitor when you get it up and running again. That way you can be sure that it is getting enough cooling.

awesome! thanks! and since this will be for gaming do you recommend any?
I have 4[2x2]corsair DDR3 RAM
Radeon 5770 [1gb] (Should I upgrade this? pretty low on cash but would love an affordable alternative if you have any ideas]
