iMac Password Problems

Hey.I'm completly new to macs and have just bought one. when going through the basic setup when you first tun it on i must have eneterd my password wrongly (stupid i know, but this keyboard is the most sensative thing ever compared to my old one) so anyway i have tried many disffrent combanaions of hat i think it could be when it asks me for it when im trying t install new sofatwre etc. but none of them have worked is there anyway i can change it without knwing my old one??...or just not have a password in the first place whihc would make more sense as it is just me that will be ususing the computer.

no lol. i have checked everything like that, as i said i have tried many combinations of what i htought it could be but, none of them worked.

so does anyone have any idea how i can change this without knowing my old one???
