Hey everyone, I'm in the process of building my own machine. I have a case and a power supply picked out. Where do I go from here?

Power Supply

Now, this machine, I'd like it to be top of the line or close to that, and fully upgradeable. I have no idea where to go from here. I know I want a dual core CPU, but I'm not sure about the motherboard. I don't know about video card either. Sound card, I want one that supports 7.1 surround. I'd also like dual widescreen monitors, but I'll start with a single widescreen for now.

Any tips?

Also, I'd like a 500 gig hard drive...

I would suggest SLI cards. Due to the fact that Graphics are moving toward SLI. I don't have exact details of what you should buy.
A good way to get ideas is to visit hardware websites like http://tomshardware.com or look at users signatures (like mine) to get ideas of what people are using today for their computers. Toms Hardware has a lot of new ideas and technologies that have or are coming out. Also if you want to go with Intel I would recommend Core 2 (dual or quad core).

MOBO: Quad Core or Dual Core and supports SLI

CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe (you could get E6700 but the price jumps 200, or go extreme or quad)

should work well i should think...

Edit: Sorry, double post.

Yeah I know, the obvious doesn't always come to me as easy.

Now with my case and the reccomended parts, would my airflow be okay?

It should be. . . Thats a pretty nice case. You could get a better heatsink (instead of the one that comes with the CPU), but it isn't completely necessary.

yeah and get some fans etc
#Plus to esa193 thats not obvious to everyone he's new to buoilding computers , just double checking beofre going out and spending money so he dosent waste his money
