Hi everyone, We need to buy a new computer and we don't know what to buy. We do a lot of media things and photos etc so we need a lot of room, and yet we love gaming. We also are in the boonies so we have dial up only.

Should we go with a gaming computer ( which seems to have a lot of stuff we wouldn't need) but is fast and would let our games be much more enjoyable, or should we go with a media PC and try to add gaming stuff on it? HELP!!! Thanks

Rainie

You could get a media pc, with gaming capabilites too that are upgradable.
Try to get a video card that is not built into the motherboard, and the same goes with the soundcard, as you will regret this later.
Though if you get a full blown media pc, you would get independant cards anyway for use with external TV's and TV outputs.
Computers like this are becoming much more popular as people use pc's to record programs and watch tv much more often these days.

Hope you find one

Thank you for your reply. Your information is welcome and we will be looking for those options!
Thanks, Rainie

Better to have the best of both worlds. Get a gaming PC because you'll have tons of power for pretty much anything after that. If you have a gaming PC, you can watch DVDs, listen to music, watch TV using a tuner card (optional upgrade), mulitask a whole bunch of other stuff, and play games too.

I would get a p4 in this situation as they perform brilliantly in multimedia situations and do very well in games!!!
