I need help with computer audio

I accidently deleted a sound device from my computer
I don't remember the exact device

Now my computer has no sound

Volume Control doesn't open
It says: No active mixer is found. Go to printers and add hardware

When I do that I get: Add Multimedia Audio Controller

When I go through the install wizard I get: The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software

How can I fix this problem and get sound again?

Right click my computer then click properties then click on hardware tab then click on device manager then go through the list and right click any items that have the question mark sigh on it then click install driver

I had a issue kinda like that too. Do you still have the OS disc? You can install core components back on to you're PC.

Disable
Uninstall

I updated the driver

Still no sound

When I click Volume Control it says:

There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control panel, Click printers and other hardware, and then click add hardware

Realtek AC'97 Audio Controller:
This device cannot start (Code 10)

uninstall, reboot, reboot again, then find it in device manager and install. Then reboot again.

I just did all of the steps above and I got ->

Cannot start this hardware
