How does this build for a gaming computer upgrade look?

I made my decision for what I want to upgrade on my computer. I'm limited to a budget of $300. I found a good video card and power supply.

The total comes out to be $294.98 not including the mail in rebate.

My system specs right now are:

Windows Vista Home Premium
3070MB RAM
DirectX10
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 1523 MB
1440 X 900 (32 bit) (60 Hz) Monitor
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+

I don't have many options with that motherboard for a better processor, so I'm gonna save up until I can get a new motherboard and get a better processor.

How does this look right now? Any suggestions?

Those are very nice choices. OCZ and EVGA make very good products. 700W is a bit overkill though unless your planning on running SLI in the future.

Here' another option that will save you a few dollars:

MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OCv4 GeForce GTX 260 - faster (it's overclocked) and cheaper

OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600W - 600W is plenty for your setup.

As for your motherboard, you can probably drop in any number of the new Phenom II CPUs including the new socket AM3 chips as they are backwards compatible with socket AM2+ motherboards.

I accidentally posted the 700 watt. I meant to post the 600 watt. Thank you for posting that video card, too. Good thing it fits in my case. The total is now 239.98 Time to figure out which processor to get. Thanks for your help.
