How do you turn your PC into something like TiVo?

Hi. I was just wondering if there is a way that you can use the memory on the hard-drive of your PC to turn it into a digital video recorder like TiVo? I have a 160GB hard-drive and only 50GB of that is being used at the moment, leaving me with 110GB to use, and I know that a lot of DVRs only have 20GB hard-drives on them anyway so memory shouldn't be a problem.
Anyone know how I'd go about doing this?

You need a TV capture card

The best one i have found is by leadtek

goto the above address and click on multi-media, you will then be presented with a list of tv capture cards, depending on how much you want to spend depends which one to pick, but i would suggest the WinFast TV2000 XP Expert comes with all the software you need to record and edit tv programs. I belive it only costs around £40

or Hauppauge http://www.hauppauge.co.uk; thats where my Card comes from. You can get specific capture ones from them which will save the files in the right format and everything. Very nice.
