Seasons greetings everyone i'm new around here.
I've been using my Asus P4t533 P4 2 gig computer for a couple of years now, its the one with the rimbus memory sticks I'm moving on to Sonar 5 music prog. Sonar 2.2 has worked well on the computer but i think its time to move on. I've had a version of Sonar 4 for evaluation and find the sound so much sweeter, the snag is the computer is indicating between 75 and 95% cpu usage and with around 16 tracks and plugins the computer seems to be at its limit and break up is occuring. The computer has not had great usage so i was hoping to upgrade it or at a crunch i will have to rebuild with a later board. The P4 cpu in use at the moment is 2 gig socket 478, does anyone know what speed of cpu this board will support, i've scanned all the specs but can't seem to find any info. Calling in my local computer shop today they told me to throw it in the bin and start again as the P4 478 are no longer made and you can't get the CPU's? Anyone any advice on which way to go with this?
