hard drive problem?

Hi, yesterday I replaced a hard drive with a brand new one, it was working fine when I handed it over, today it came back after going into windows repair every time and nothing I did to resolve this worked, even a reformat and reinstall didn't work, so I used a diagnostic tool on ultimate boot cd a quick test said read element failure error code 0007, I'm now running a full test, surely a new drive can't be knackered after one day? after the full test it gave me error code 0225 too many errors contact manufacturor

Send the drive back for warranty and get a new one. Sometimes that's the best/easiest/quickest approach.

Thanks, well I'm currently running Dban which is currently 72% through reporting no errors as yet, if I still have problems, I shall send it back under warranty.
