graphics problem, plz help

I just got a new computer, with a good video card but when im playing games everything is dark, Ive tried turning up gamma/brightness on both moniter and game, but nothing, ive tried tweaking the video card, nothing. My moniter is fairly old but not bad, could this be my problem?

Any help to improve my gamma in games would be apprieciated, thx.

P.S. my graphics arnt bad, just the gamma

what you do is, right click you desktop>properties>settings>advanced>click your card name (example 9800pro)>graphics properties>color. then change gamma, brightness, and contrast to your likeings.

no already did that, I found out that it is my piece of shit moniter, now i have to go spend more money on this money hole... wow comps are expencive
