Graphics card bios?

so i was checking up on graphics card, and found out that there was bios, theres a bios update for the eVGA 8800GT, it fixes the auto speed thing, and improves compatibility with pcie gen1 motherboards.

i have this mobo that i am going to use with the 8800GT when i arrives.

i dont know anything about what the pcie gen1 motherboards are/ are about.
but is mine the gen1 motherboards?
i wouldnt think so since it wasnt released that long ago.
so should i update the bios when i get it?
i dont care about the auto fan speed since i use Riva Tuner.
