Sorry if this is the wrong section but..

I'm basically using this computer for internet, programming (C++, C, Visual Basic ect..), playing games (like combat arms, and other not very high end games) and wanted to know if its a good build. I will be using Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. Also I want to spend like $600 for this PC. I prefer that the computer is very fast because I care a lot about performance.

Any recommendations are highly appreciated =].
Edit: and this is my first time building a PC, and if its easier just to post parts instead of links tell me.

That's a nice setup.

I would only make two changes. The 8600GT is pretty much a low end card these days. It will play your games, but on the lower settings. You might want to get something like the BFG Tech GeForce 9600 GT 512MB. It costs a bit more, but you'll be happier with it's performance.

The DVD burner you chose is a slim model designed more for micro cases and notebooks. This would be a better (and cheaper) choice: LG Black 20X DVD Burner w/ SecurDisc Tech. It's also burns much faster at 20x than the 8x Sony.

For $5 more, you could get this drive and increase your storage capacity: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 320GB

:D
