Hey guys, I am interested in editing some movies and just making some trailers for the fun of it and adding music and all that good stuff.

My friend suggested Sony Vegas and I am trying to figure it out even with the manual and it is reallllly complicated, I want something a little better than Windows Movie Maker.

So my question is, could you guys give me the names of some pretty good video editing programs and one that is fairly easy to figure out and use.

Thanks

Sony Vegas is, IMO, the best and most user friendly editing software out there. You can get one of 3 different versions: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/products/vegasfamily.asp
I personally have Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 7, but may upgrade to Pro 8 soon with the good deal of $130 for just Vegas Pro 8: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/536041-REG/Sony_VP8Q_Vegas_Pro_8_Video.html
If you need DVD architect, then it would be cheaper to just get Movie Studio, or Movie Studio Platinum.

I've used Adobe Premiere, supposedly the best of the best, but it crashes so much and it's not very work flow efficient, at least for me. I think I've only had Vegas crash on me twice because it didn't like a file in the 1.5 years I've used it. Don't go with the lesser names like Ulead and Magix, or whatever they are, they are basically a Windows Movie Maker with more features, and crash often. If you are tight on cash, get Vegas Movie Studio.

i don't know...but ive been using ulead video studio for about 2 years now...and it is VERY user friendly and easy to use

if ur not gonna do VERY complicated things, then i suggest ulead
