friend has trouble overclocking his alienware

he just bought an alienware and he's wanting to know how to overclock his graphics card and processor. he tried going into his bios. he upped his clock speed to 220 which made his processor speed 2.4. whenever he tried to open something in windows the computer would freeze.

computer specs:

amd 3500
ati radeon x800 pro
2 GB ram

any ideas?

For OCing the video card, use ATI Tool. As for OCing the CPU, Alienware might've did something to the BIOS.

Its probably freezing because the proc is at its max output

no way alienware can come OC'ed it would void the warranty on the CPU.

Maybe everything is maxed out though like spartan228 says, which is why its deciding to freeze if you even put it up a little bit more

Well I am not 100% that AlienWare doesn't OC but frankly that would just be idiotic.

Is it just me? Or is alienware a type of Apple style clone? in the way it uses alot of talent in the styling of the hardware

Alienware is shitty, Not shitty quality at all but they overcharge like hell.
