Firewire vs UBS 2.0

Do Firewire vs UBS 2.0 do the same thing?

If so which is better?

I have a Dell 4600 Dimension and need to transfer video from my Sony DCR TVR245E to DVD.

Is the USB 2.0 just a plug in (external) product?

Is installing the firewire board easy (I'm a novice at PCing)?

Any comments would be appreciated.

The firewire should be simple enough to install and would give you higher speeds so that would be best.

Ive got a sony tvr33e and using USB 2.0 to transfer video results in terrible quality video (low resolution and very blurred) After doing some research on the internet, fire wire is the way to go according to the good people and www.videoeditingforums.co.uk. so i went over to www.amazon.co.uk and have ordered a Nisis 3 port PCI Firewire Card
which gives you 3 fire wire ports, cable and free video editing software!
