I finally decided to buy parts and build a computer. Can any of you go to newegg.com or tigerdirect.com and pick out a case (Power source), cpu, Motherboard, harddrive, and RAM for me? It cant be too expensive and I want it to be from one site to cut on shipping costs.

Just collect as many of the previously mentioned items as you can and please post their links.

If you want a cheap yet good computer

AMD 64 3000+ Processor
NForce 3 Mobo
nVidia FX5700 or 5900 or if your looking for ATI a 9800
(If you want to play games this should get you through but if you want to play with some high quality get a 6600GT, they are pretty cheap now anyway)

1gb of Value Select Corsair, Kingston, Mushkin. These are cheaper but still good. The only downfall is that they are not for overclocking.

80-120GB SATA or IDE hard drive (Seagate's are good in my experience)

case/powersupply : http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-119-065&depa=1

cooler master makes good cases,
this one is nice and comes with a 350W ps which should be enough...

If I have time later ill find the links and stuff but they should probably be easy to find on your own

I built a computer resembling this one and it works great...

it should cost you anywhere between 650-900$ i suppose..I have no idea about american currencies

then again you could always do this...

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1204997&CatId=139 ( 80gb SATA SEAGATE)

then this video card

or if you are looking for something cheaper..then
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=699286&CatId=880

this would be somewhere around 650$ and then with tax i dont know

By the way give us an average you want to spend and maybe some specs so we can get some more specific parts

well i have around 300 right now, but I am not going to build the comp right now, I will build it as i get parts, so the case then mobo then cpu are most important now.

I prefer AMD, the rest doesnt matter, 512mb RAM is fine

i also found the same thing (athlon 3200 ) with 512 ram and 200gb hard drive in a ad from the mail today that will be sold at a computer convention thing next week,

any thoughts?
