extra things

In the real world, neither of those products are needed. They're good for bragging rights, but that's just about it.

The PhysX cards are pretty much obsolete since some ATI cards and Nvidia 8800 series cards support the same type of programming. Also, there aren't a whole lot of games programmed for PhysX.

That Killer K1 sure is one expensive NIC. if it does what it claims to do with torrents, that would be nifty. But still to expensive.

so if i was building a 4300$ rig in 1-2 years, and had a few extra hundred dollers to trow at it, they would be good

othre then that, i think there 4 braggin rights too

Well, if you do build a new rig in 1-2 years, that stuff will definitely not be needed let alone available to buy. The advances in video card technology will overshadow anything that the PhysX SDK cards would be able to do.

With the current quad core CPU's, massive memory amounts, and high speed gigabit ethernet advances, the Killer K1 will make a nice $169 paperweight.

For the money those would cost, you could get a bigger hard drive setup, a better video card, etc.
The physics card hasn't caught on, and won't as GPU's can now handle physics calculations.
