External Hardware Trouble

Unable to view files in plugged in external hard drive, the drive says there is over 20 gigs of the total 160 gigs used up, however although i am able to access the drive, the files are not there. The drive says they are but i cannot see them. How can i fix this?

Western Digital
160 gigs
fat32

Did you check for hidden files or to go through Windows Explorer?
