External Hard Drive Disappears In Windows Explorer

So on my new acquired ASUS X44L laptop I've been using my Western Digital Elements USB 3.0 Hard Drive and after awhile it disappears from windows explorer and I have to unplug and plug it in to be able to use it again. Anyone know why this is happening?

This may be because it sleeps after a certain time to save power, I suggest going to the power options on the hard-drive and checking it out.

I suppose it came with drivers and software?, Maybe in their it may have settings to adjust the sleep/power mode.

So I think I've found why this is happening, A setting called USB selective suspend is enabled for both power plans.

The USB selective suspend feature allows the hub driver to suspend an individual port without affecting the operation of the other ports on the hub.

I thought that would be the problem, it saves power, just disable it, had a quick read, you can disable certain ports to.
