DVDRW will not read CDd, and the Fan will not stop

Hi all. I just bought a new DVDRW.. it is a OEM NEC DVDRW. It was working fine until now... I installed some drivers for my motherboard and harddrive and after that when I put a CD into the drive.... the fan starts spinning very fast or the noise from the dvdrw is loud and does not stop! in the meantime it does not read any CD's I put in there

Try a system restore to before you installed the drivers...

However, sounds like a faulty drive, might be worth taking it back.
