I have a Sony VAIO PCG-TR5AP notebook. It has a combination DVD and CD Drive. It plays audio CD's and CD-ROM just fine, but won't recognize a DVD. By the way, this drive was replaced about 4 months ago, with a drive ordered from Sony. I have apdated WinDVD liscense to v6.0 and still no DVD. The people who replaced the drive are really HP experts, and not Sony. They did it as a favor to me.
