Which combination is better used for dual channel and overclocking 4x512 or 2x1024?

that compleetely depends on the timings of the RAM.

and other stuff.

if i was you id get the 2 X 1Gb to leave room for upgrading later.

i mean i doubt there would be alot of difference if any between 4 X 512 and 2 X 1024 if they were exactly the same model and speed.

I already have a 1GB dual channel kit GEIL cl4 800 mhz and iwas thinking of getting a new one.

2x1024, it might be prettier but filling up all the slots isn't necessarily a performance gain.

2x1024 because the odds of having 4 chips being able to run at the same oced speed compared to 4 chips is drastically improved. also its cheaper

not sure how ocing RAM affects game performance but im pretty sure its fairly drastic because the cpu can process data much faster than the ram can supply it so IMO every mhz counts

It is cheaper it`s also a dillema,i already have a 2x512 dual channel kit and was thinking of getting a new one and i really want some opinions before i do that to see how it will work and yes i do wanna oc and i hope i can do that.
