Yet another Gears of War problem, but this time it's not just happening to me! I finally got GoW reinstalled and working 100% by going through my registry and deleting the 597 GoW items in there. Last night I was surfing the net when I found this on Ars Technica. Sure enough when I tried to play GoW I got an error message telling me I couldn't play it if I had modified it. So thanks for covering it up by lying to me and telling me I modified the game. Talk about total stupidity! Thanks again Microsoft, GG! There's nothing like hurting your customers that actually paid with their hard earned cash for your sub-par software! Epic Games was shocked when they heard about this and they are trying to resolve the issue as fast as possible with Microsoft. This is utterly pathetic.

I Think this is a BIG Reason why many people wouldnt buy SPORE - It had a few DRM Issues.

Honestly,DRM Does more damage to customer loyalty than it does protect the game from being copied.

Yeah, my friend had to return Spore after 3 days of trying to get it to work. Too bad, Spore looked like it had promise. I was just in Best Buy today and I saw GoW for sale. Some guy was holding it and I told him he doesn't want to get that haha

DRM or no DRM, people will always find ways to steal games, movies, music, etc. However, for games especially (with the vast amount of files and changes that it makes to your system; causing problems like mentioned in this post) why hurt good customers?...totally agree Neodude.

Yup, DRM only slows the hackers down for a couple hours... so there is a couple hours usually before the game is released anyway, where its uncracked. If companies would quit wasting time and money on DRM, the games could be sold for say, $39.99 or $29.99 instead of $50. That would get them some more customers. If they make them a little cheaper, it will take 50% more units sold, but they can get that. Some people just pirate everything, but if a game looks good, and comes out for like $30, I buy it. They would actually save money by giving up on DRM, and selling the games a little cheaper. Product keys are all you need. If it's only a single player game, well, then piracy may be an issue still, but even so, if they made the games cheaper, piracy would slow down.

I heard for Crysis, for every 1 copy sold, 10 were pirated. I bought Crysis Warhead the day it came out, and I also have a legit Crysis product key now too... Cheaper games=more sales.

I'm not sure if you were hinting at it or not, but why not take the gaming industry down the disc-less road? I mean, let people redistribute (with no cracks/keygens/etc with no risk of punishment) the games all they want, and have the product keys available for purchase at the site for WAY cheaper than the game. I bet that would be a big hit. I know that if things went like that, I'd have a *puts head down* lot more legit games. People just simply can't afford $50 bucks a pop. I mean, what, are you supposed to be entertained for years on that one game? It's just unreal. I know it's not right to run illegal things, but who can afford it? Especially now... And you are def. right superman, if companies killed DRM, then they'd save money and sell more...very simple economics if you ask me.
