I need to back up my computer's data in preparation for a clean install of Vista. I got some DVDs and I tried to click and drag the My Documents folder into the DVD window and I got this message. What's it mean?

These DVDs are DVD + RW, and maybe I don't have a DVD + R drive, but my drive says DVD Multi Recorder, DVD + R DL, and compact disk RW all on the front. This is my drive:

Hope you can help.

First, the copying process may be happening with a file that is in use, hence the error, and ANY DVD burner comes with the DVD-RW capability.

there is no problem with the burner, probably you shudnt drag the folder but actually copy it and paste it

well i tried copy/paste and the same thing happened
should i try using a different burner? does it matter that I am using DVD + RW and should I use DVD-Rs?

just copy and paste the contents of the folder. My Documents is a system folder and it probably cant be copy and pasted\and it definately cant be moved.

instead of copying the whole MY DOCUMENTS folder, go into the folder and copy all of the stuff.
