Hi I'm an experienced computer user, but it has been a while since i upgraded my ram, and i need to buy a new mobo...

is it possible to run my 512MB of sdram on a DIMM slot(?) mobo? and whats the difference, lol.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but i guess im just stupid :p

Most likely if your buying a new Mobo, it'll be DDR Ram, SDRAM would not work with a DDR mobo. As for the DIMM, i thought that was just a name for the slot that memory goes into and the stick of ram. Not so sure, but, different types of memory cant be compatible with others.

Yeah; DDR has different stuff in it so it doesn't work. As far as I know the cuts in the bottom to make it fit are different too so you probably couldn't even get it in.

Any older sdram ram will only disable the newer ddr ram if it was possible.
