Diffrent Jobs in The Video Game Industry?

Hey All,

I am 15 and currently beta testing at Lionhead Studios in Guildford England. I find the whole process of making games really cool. I was just wondering what kind of branches there are in this industry.

Programmer: The people who code the game and make things work.

And thats about all i know hehe Can anyone explain to me what designers, artists and other positions within the industry?

Well, there are lots of people involved in making a game these days. There are artists, designers (sound and graphic), programmers (video and code), musicians, engineers (all kinds), and all sorts of technicians. There are a lot of different types of jobs when making a professional game. There's also the publishing side of it, too. Many people are needed to actually publish a game once it's finished.
