Desktop to TV

Hello,

I am trying to hook up my desktop pc (just go with it) to the TV in my room but I am having some problems. I should probably mention that my desktop has a S-Video out but my TV doesn't. Anyways, when I went to the store, I noticed this little gizmo called an RF Modulator and it said that you could hook up a laptop to a TV and I figured well if it works for a laptop, then it must work with a desktop. So I bought it, brought it home, hooked everything up but my TV was still that fuzzy black and white. My TV has a built in DVD player so there is really no reason to change it to channel 3 or 4 when hooking something up... I am just curious if this is the problem, or if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks for your help!

Well you usually have to enable a second monitor in your graphics card settings, it doesn't just work right off I don't think.

my tv doesn't have one but most dvd players or ect do so try running it throught the same line to the tv through the coaxial or rca ports.
