Desktop Hangs on Vista Shutdown

Hi,
When I shutdown Vista, the sidebar disappears, but everything else remains the same and I can't open anymore programs. Usually, after about 5 minutes, it will shutdown. Anybody have any ideas?


System specs- E6600 at 2.7GHz (Fully stable under Prime95 torture test) - Geforce 8800 GTX - Microsoft Windows Vista x64 - 4gigs RAM - Soundblaster X-fi XTreme Music - 150Gb Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM

I have the same thing with Vista. This is what I do. I go to Task Manager and end most of the tasks. Then it is easier to shut down. Also, when I am on my laptop, I just push the turn off button until it goes off. Your set up is beautiful, it should be working well. Just try to end all processes that are user-started.

It could be doing updates or anything, just let it do what it needs to do.
