Yes, I know, it is a 10-year-old model. But I'm just trying to get by for now.
Anyway I am having an issue here. Well, I recently obtained a Dell Latitude E6500 laptop. When I turned it on I noticed that the screen did not turn on. I put a flashlight up to the screen and there was no image at all. It seemed to be booting; the hard disk was active and the keyboard responded. The hard drive has Linux Mint on it.
I removed the bottom panel to check the display connector, which was normal (I reseated it anyway, still didn't work.)
I'd just like to know what the probable cause for this issue is. I'm assuming a new display might be able to fix the problem, but I'm also guessing that it could be a problem on the board. I'm not sure as I've never dealt with such an issue before.
Input would be appreciated.
